You are transferred to your hotel in Jerusalem. Enjoy the day at leisure before a Welcome Drink with your Trafalgar Representative and fellow travellers.     Hotel: Dan Panorama Jerusalem (4 nights)

Day 2 – New City of Jerusalem
We make our way to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million martyrs of World War II. At the Israel Museum we will visit the Shrine of the Book housing the Dead Sea Scrolls, then we see the Knesset or Parliament and the Givat Ram Campus of Hebrew University. Your evening is free. (Israeli breakfast)

Day 3 – Mount Zion – The Old City of JerusalemOld City Jerusalem
We visit the Tomb of King David and the room of the Last Supper on Mount Zion before reaching the Old City of Jerusalem. Walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter to the Western Wall to see the Dome of the Rock. Later, we follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Later we stop at Mount Scopus and the Mount of Olives for a view of the Old City. (Israeli breakfast)

Day 4 – Jerusalem at leisure.
A full day at leisure in this fascinating city. (Israeli breakfast)

Day 5 – Jerusalem – Dead Sea – Massada – Ein Gev (2 nights)
Our journey takes us through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth, passing Qumran to view the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. We drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada where we ascend by cable car to tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans. Next we explore the excavations of Herod’s Palace. We continue to our Kibbutz in Ein Gev where we spend the next two nights. (Israeli breakfast / Dinner)      Hotel: Kibbutz Hotel Ein Gev (2 nights)

Day 6 – Ein Gev – Tiberias – Nazareth – Meggido – Ein GevDead_Sea 1
We begin the day with views of the Sea of Galilee from the former Syrian bunkers on the Golan Heights. Then continue to Capernaum, the old town of Jesus, and on to lovely Tiberias. Next to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation and finally to Meggido to see the excavations of Solomon’s Stables. (Israeli breakfast / Dinner)

Day 7 – Ein Gev – Tzfat (Safed) – Acre – Haifa – Caesarea – Tel Aviv (2 nights)
We stop at Tzfat to visit the ancient synagogue and artists’ colony, then to Acre to visit the Crypt of St. John and the underground crusader city. At Haifa we admire the views of the Bahai Shrine and visit the Persian Gardens before heading to Caesarea to view the Roman statues, the aqueduct and the Roman theatre. Our day ends in Tel Aviv. (Israeli breakfast)     Hotel: Dan Panoroma Tel Aviv (2 nights)

Day 8 – Tel Aviv at leisure
Today is a full day at leisure with time to relax before your return flight or explore the city further. (Israeli breakfast)

Day 9 – Depart Tel Aviv

Sun – Day 03: Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Haifa
Enjoy a cultural visit to the Nahum Goldmann Museum of the Jewish Diaspora before proceeding along the coastal plain to Caesarea, which was the capital of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the Crusader city as well as the Roman port, aqueduct and amphitheatre that has been restored to its former glory as a modern-day concert venue. Continue via the Druze Villages to Haifa for an overnight stay.

Mon – Day 04: Haifa – Safed – Golan Heights
Begin your tour of Haifa at the summit of Mount Carmel where you will take in a breathtaking panoramic Views of Haifa Bay and Western Galilee. Continue to the golden domed Bahai Shrine to visit the exotic Persian Gardens. Then proceed to the centre of Jewish mysticism – Safed – where you will visit the ancient synagogue and artists’ colony. Continue to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin.

Tue – Day 05: Sea of Galilee – Nazareth – Jerusalem
Start off the day with a visit to Tiberias. Drive to Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue and octagonal church of St. Peter and then proceed to Nazareth, where you will visit the church of the Annunciation.Drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient synagogue depicting the zodiac. Overnight in Jerusalem.

Wed – Day 06: Jerusalem (Old City)
Visit the Tomb of King David and the Room of the Last Supper on Mt. Zion. Enter the walled Old City and walk through the newly restored Jewish Quarter. Visit the Roman Cardo, the Herodian Quarter and continue to the Western Wall. Walk along the Via Dolorosa to the church of the Holy Sepulchre, proceed to Mount Scopus and then to the Mount of Olives for a magnificent panoramic view of the Old City.

* Continue to Bethlehem, stopping at Rachel’s Tomb and to visit the Church of the Nativity.

Thur – Day 07
Jerusalem: The New City
Drive to the Hadassah Medical Center in Ein Kerem to see the Chagall stained glass windows. Continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust and then to the Israel Museum; Visit the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the second of Jerusalem as it was during the second temple period. View the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, and the Givat Ram Campus of the Hebrew University.

Fri – Day 08
Qumeran / Massada / Dead Sea
Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level. Stop at Qumeran to visit the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. Ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress where the Zealots made their last stand against the Romans before committing mass suicide in 73 AD. Descend by cable car, time and weather permitting, an opportunity will be provided to float on the Dead Sea.

Overnight in Jerusalem.
